Wildlife presentation
This really is the perfect time of year to venture over to a local school and do a wildlife presentation for two grade 4 classes. Winter weather is still hanging around, preventing us from doing anything on the golf course at this point. One class is treated to a 30 minute power point presentation that is both informative, funny and very interactive. The other class is building their own nest boxes and after they are done, we switch classrooms and do it all again. It really is a fun morning and a lot of work is done building and then disassembling the nest boxes. Thanks to Brent Lees and John MacKeeman for their work, it certainly is a lot of cutting, sanding, drilling and assembling when we are making over 50 boxes. Some nest boxes will be for sale in the office for $10 so we can recoup some of our costs. Thanks to Mike Fulton at Airdrie Home Building Center for his donation of some cedar lumber for the project.
